Offline AI assistant · Coming soon

Knowledge that works offline.

An AI assistant that runs entirely on your phone. Ask by text, photo or voice, and get answers from Wikipedia and survival guides stored on the device.

Three phones showing Lychnari: the start screen asking “What do you need to know?”, an answer with its sources listed underneath, and text read from a photo.

How it works

Ask. Read the answer. Check the source.

  1. 01

    Ask in your own words.

Type a question the way you’d say it. Lychnari searches the library stored on your phone for the passages that fit.

Lychnari with the question typed in: How thick should you cut meat strips for drying?
  2. 02

    Get a straight answer.

A small AI model on the phone writes the answer from those passages, and says so above it. No server, no waiting for a signal.

The answer: cut it into 6-millimetre strips with the grain, with three retrieved passages listed underneath
  3. 03

    See where it came from.

Every answer lists the passages it was built from. Tap one to read it in full, with its source and licence.

A Wikipedia passage about the bowline knot, opened from an answer, with its source and licence
  4. 04

    Or just show it.

Take a photo of a label or a page. The text is read on the phone, and you can fix it before you ask.

Text found in your photo: Boil water for at least one minute before drinking it

FAQ

Good to know.

What’s inside?

Wikipedia articles and public-domain survival guides, stored on the phone together with a small AI model that reads them for you.

How accurate is it?

Answers come from a small model and can be wrong. The passages it used are always listed under the answer, so you can check them.

Is it a medical or emergency service?

No. Lychnari gives general information. It is not a medical service and not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112.

What data does it collect?

None. The app doesn’t ask for internet access, has no account and no tracking. Read the privacy page.
